The unstoppable movie star..

The clip I'm showing is from the 1980's action move Commando, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. In this particular clip, we see what was a very popular formula from action movies in the 1980s, the unstoppable movie star. The film's hero, played by Scwarzenegger invades the enemy compound. Schwarzenegger, fits the role of the typical hero; he is a well known star, he's white, he's physically imposing, and able to do improbable things to prevail against the bad guys, all of whom being non-white, clearly not as phyiscally imposing as our hero.

These henchmen are all perceived as bumbling fools who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with their weapons. Though clearly not realistic at all; it does make for entertaining viewing.
