cartoons

I was thinking about a lot of the provocative shows on TV, and I realized that quite a lot of them are cartoons, in spite of the fact that a lot of people don't take cartoons seriously. Maybe that's how shows such as Family Guy, The Simpsons, South Park (not exactly a cartoon, but cartoonish), and the Boondocks get away with what they do. I can't think of a lot of live shows that tackle issues head on the way some of these shows do. Maybe their cartoony look somehow allows them to deal with issues in a way that softens them since cartoons usually aren't taken too seriously here. Seems like most of em deserve more credit than they get. Way I figure it, if you don't take anyone or anything seriously, you can say more and get away with more. They definitely deserve more credit.
